New Delhi: ‘End of the world,’ a concept that is often talked about in philosophical, religious, and scientific contexts. Additionally, it can refer to a variety of ideas, such as the end of humanity, the planet’s destruction, or the ultimate fate of the universe. Planet Earth is home to a rich diversity of religions, each with its own beliefs and customs. These religions provide various views on the nature of existence, the divine, the afterlife, and the purpose of life. Well, these different belief systems have various interpretations of the end of the world. Some of them are as follows:

Hinduism

Hinduism, one of the world’s oldest religions, offers various theories on how the world will end. A widely shared belief is the concept of Pralaya, where Lord Vishnu will descend to Earth as the Kalki avatar, riding a white horse and wielding his chakra to eradicate all evil forces. This period of destruction will be followed by a rebirth when Lord Brahma awakens and initiates a new cycle of creation.

Islam

Islam describes the end of the world as Qayamat or the Day of Judgement. On this day, Allah will evaluate the actions of every human being, rewarding or punishing them based on their deeds. The signs leading up to this event include widespread corruption, natural disasters that will become common, and the arrival of Dajjal, a figure who will bring chaos and deception.

Zoroastrianism

In Zoroastrianism, the end of the world, known as Frashokereti, will be marked by a cosmic battle between good and evil. The forces of goodness and light will ultimately triumph over darkness, leading to the resurrection of the dead, the purification of the world, and the renewal of existence.

Christianity

Many Christians believe the end times will involve tribulation and divine intervention. During the final judgment, the righteous will ascend to heaven, while the unrighteous face eternal damnation.
