What are the winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday, Dec. 6?

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Christmas could come early for one lucky winner if their numbers align for the 10th Mega-ist Mega Millions drawing in history, with a new chance announced Friday night.

With no winners since Sept. 10, the jackpot sits at an estimated $579 million, the third this year to make the top 10 list.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing are 16, 21, 33, 39, and 45. The gold Mega Ball is 24, and the optional Megaplier is 2X.

If this drawing finds a winner, they would be only the fourth Mega Millions victor this year. Alongside the September winner, one player took home $552 million in June and another won $1.128 billion in New Jersey in March. The billion-dollar prize still has not been claimed, and Mega Millions said if it will expire on March 26, 2025 if no one steps forward, with the funds reverting back to each participating Mega Millions jurisdiction.

Although there was no jackpot winner, three lucky players took home $1 million in Tuesday's drawing. Two Ohioans and one Wisconsin resident claimed this second-tier prize.
