AUSTIN (KXAN) — Vandegrift got five passing touchdowns from Miles Teodecki and three interceptions from its defense to thump San Antonio Harlan 47-14 in the 6A Division II Region IV final at UFCU Stadium in San Marcos.
Brendan Fournier scored twice on the ground for the Vipers. Vandegrift led 25-7 at halftime and then poured it on the second half to complete the blowout win.
The Vipers advanced to the state semifinals and will play either Humble Summer Creek or Kingwood who play Saturday.
Westlake won the 6A Division I Region IV final 24-17 over Lake Travis.
In other action around Central Texas, Edna took out Llano 41-14 in Class 3A Division I and Tidehaven stopped Lexington's great run through the 3A Division II playoffs 35-21.
Wimberley hung on to defeat Sinton 36-33 to advance to the 4A Division II semifinals.
