Person dies after house fire in Vancouver 

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person died after firefighters responded to a house fire in Vancouver overnight, authorities said.

The Vancouver Fire Department said they responded just after 2 a.m. on Friday. When they arrived at 15102 NE 81st Way, they found the front of a one-story house engulfed in flames.

After attacking the flames and entering the home, firefighters found an unconscious man inside.

The man wasn't breathing and he was moved to the outside.

“Vancouver Fire Paramedics and EMTs began advanced, lifesaving medical procedures and were joined by paramedics from American Medical Response ambulance services,” VPD said in a release. “The patient did not respond to medical care and was pronounced deceased on scene.”

The house fire was later extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
