SC to hear petitions on Dec 12 challenging provisions of Places of Worship Act
The Supreme Court will address petitions challenging the Places of Worship Act on December 12. The Act prevents legal action to reclaim or alter the character of religious sites as they existed on August 15, 1947. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized the ruling party, alleging their involvement in fueling religious disputes and urged them to uphold the Act.
