Lafayette firefighters respond to early-morning shed fire

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- An investigation is currently underway for a shed fire that occurred early this morning.
Lafayette firefighters responded to a shed fire in the backyard of a home in 500 block of St. John Street around 6:18 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes, though the shed sustained heavy damage, officials said.
The owner told fire officials that he has experienced homeless people living inside the shed.
Now officials are looking into the possiblity that someone was sleeping inside the shed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said.
