Wintry mix moving in ahead of a bitterly cold windchill

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Wednesday will really warm things up, but it will be very hard to feel. Highs will approach the upper 30s ahead of a cold front. Along with this warm-up will be very breezy winds, especially in the afternoon. Gusts at times will be close to 40 mph. This will keep the afternoon windchill feeling like its below freezing.

That cold front overnight will bring some light wintry mix scattered over the area. Little accumulation is expected. Temperatures will plummet on the back end of this front. Windchills are going to drop to the low single digits by tomorrow morning.

The coldest day of the season is likely on Thursday only reaching the upper 20s. Outside of a few light snow showers, conditions will stay mostly cloudy and breezy once again. Skies do eventually begin to clear out a little bit much later in the day.

More changes come over the weekend and beyond. This Sunday brings a return to temps in the mid 40s with rain showers. Highs next Monday will top up near 50 degrees finally bringing conditions above normal.
