Albany man sentenced in gun, drug case
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that an Albany man was sentenced in a 2023 drug and weapon case. Kamaro Campbell, 42, faces 12 years in prison.
In July, Campbell pleaded guilty to cocaine and fentanyl possession with the intent to distribute them as well as having a gun. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, when executing a search warrant in June 2023, agents found 105 grams of fentanyl, 95 grams of cocaine, a fanny pack with a loaded pistol and $15,000 in Campbell's bedroom closet.
Authorities said 105 grams of cocaine were also found in an additional search. Campbell then admitted to selling another 155 grams of cocaine and 74 grams of methamphetamine.
In addition to his prison sentence, Campbell was sentenced to five years of probation after his release and ordered to give up the pistol that was taken from his apartment. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) previously forfeited the cash seized.
The DEA investigated the case and made the sentencing announcement Wednesday. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Reiner prosecuted the case.
