Tottenham eye move for English striker who is soon out of contract
Tottenham Hotspur have now reportedly set their sights on one experienced Premier League striker, whose current deal runs out at the end of the season.
Tottenham striker woes – Solanke and Richarlison
Although Dominic Solanke has had a decent start to his career at Tottenham, Richarlison’s constant injury woes have meant that Ange Postecoglou does not have a natural backup for the former Bournemouth man.
Further, Heung-min Son has blown hot and cold when he has operated as a centre-forward, looking ill-suited to that position when Spurs have come up against sides who defend in a low block.
Unsurprisingly, Tottenham are thus thought to be on the lookout for a number nine, and one Premier League star reportedly ranks high on their wishlist.
Spurs want experienced English striker
This update comes from Fichajes, who say that the Lilywhites are now eyeing a move for Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
With the 27-year-old’s current contract running out at the end of the season, Tottenham men are said to be looking ‘closely’ at his current situation.
However, the outlet makes it clear that the Toffees see the striker as an important part of their future plans and have not given up on tying him down to a new deal.
Spurs face lots of competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Fichajes say that Nottingham Forest are also keeping tabs on the Everton man’s contract situation as they look to bolster their frontline.
Meanwhile, TEAMtalk further reveal that Calvert-Lewin is also on the wishlist of Newcastle United and AC Milan, who have both been following him for ‘some time’.
The publication adds that a massive transfer battle could thus erupt for the England international’s signature soon.
