World Bank approves $188.2 million loan to Maharashtra

The World Bank has approved a $188.28 million loan to Maharashtra, India, to promote balanced development across its districts. The 15-year loan will enhance district administrations' capacity for data-driven planning, private sector engagement, and growth opportunity identification. Currently, only seven of Maharashtra's 36 districts contribute over half of its $500 billion GDP.
