State police searching for hiker missing near Newcomb

NEWCOMB, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police announced a search is underway for a hiker who was reported missing out of Essex County. Leo Dufour, 22, of Vaudreuil, Quebec, was last seen on November 30.

Dufour is described as 5'7" tall and about 150 pounds with brown hair. He was last known to be wearing a black coat, black pants, a tan winter hat, hiking boots, reflective sunglasses, and a black backpack.

State police stated a multi-agency search is being conducted near Upper Works Road in Newcomb, just over 20 miles from the Warren County border. Officials said Dufour was heading in an unknown direction in the area.
