New Hawaiian-inspired restaurant set to open in Manhattan

MANHATTAN (KSNT) - A new restaurant chain focused on sharing Hawaiian-inspired recipes is due to open its doors to locals in the Little Apple later this month.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is due to open a new location in Manhattan at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at 325 East Poyntz Avenue, according to a press release issued on Dec. 3. The first 100 customers who show up on this day will get a free t-shirt and a gift card to Hawaiian Bros ranging from $25 to $500. One customer will also win Hawaiian Bros for a year.

"We're over the moon to have successfully opened our second Kansas location this year," said Zach Fugate, owner of Ohana Restaurant Group. "Our first opening in Wichita was so well received last month. We're eager to continue our expansion and momentum in Manhattan and look forward to future growth in Kansas."

Staff will open this new location at 11 a.m. and keep it open until midnight daily beyond the grand opening date. First responders, medical personnel, academic staff, students and local business employees are also being treated to a free classic plate lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 for a VIP event.

Customers will also find this location will have two new Hawaiian Bros menu items available including the keiki meal for children and new wrap options such as the Pacific island wrap, huli huli wrap and molokai mac wrap.

The Hawaiian Bros Island Grill restaurant chain is known for its plate lunches which are inspired by the island culture and lifestyle of the 50th state.
