Alasdair Gold sheds light on rumours Jerry Jones could invest in Tottenham
Alasdair Gold has revealed what his sources have said about rumours of American Billionaire, Jerry Jones, having travelled to London to buy Tottenham.
Reports say Tottenham takeover might be imminent
It has been an open secret for a long time that Spurs are on the lookout for new investors, with Daniel Levy himself confirming the news a few months ago.
There have been a lot of reports regarding talks between former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley and the Spurs supremo over recent months.
However, a new update emerged on Thursday morning that suggested a new player had entered into talks with Levy. Football London’s Alasdair Gold has now reacted to those exact rumours.
Alasdair Gold reacts to Jerry Jones Tottenham rumour
Eric Sollenberger, who goes by PFT Commenter on X, took to social media to reveal that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is in London to explore a possible deal for Spurs.
This news got some Tottenham fans, who are desperate to see the back of ENIC and Levy, really excited. ENIC have been in charge of the North London club since purchasing Lord Alan Sugar’s ownership shares back in 2000.
However, Alasdair Gold has now rejected these claims, insisting that there is no truth to suggestions that Jones wants to buy the North London club.
Takeover talks are going to be slow
It is wishful thinking on the part of Spurs fans to believe that a takeover could happen in the blink of an eye. Given the sums of money involved, the negotiations are going to be stretched out over many months.
Besides, there is little evidence that the Tottenham hierarchy are looking for a full sale, with Levy and co likely looking for a minority sale in order to get more capital.
