At least 36 killed in Israeli airstrike on Gaza; over 100 injured

0

Palestinian health officials have reported the deaths of at least 36 people following Israeli airstrikes on parts of Gaza. These attacks took place over the past 24 hours, targeting various regions within the Gaza Strip.

Reports indicate that around 100 individuals have been injured in the attacks, with many more trapped under rubble. The health ministry in Gaza has expressed concern over the growing number of casualties.

Yesterday, Gaza health officials reported that since October of last year, Israeli attacks have resulted in 44,466 deaths and more than 105,358 injuries in the country. This escalating toll continues to highlight the devastating human impact of the conflict.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has described the situation in Gaza as “horrific” and has called on the international community to work towards establishing the foundations of a lasting peace in Gaza and the broader Middle East.

Since the onset of the Israeli offensive in Gaza, approximately 1.5 million of Gaza’s 2.2 million residents have been displaced, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Despite more than a year of ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, efforts to establish a ceasefire have so far failed to produce any meaningful results. The situation remains dire, with no clear path to peace or resolution in sight.
