NFL Fan Sparks Outrage After Shoving 8-Year-Old Cancer Survivor

An NFL fan is catching some serious heat after shoving an eight-year-old cancer survivor and sports fan who was attending her first football game, WIVB reported.

Diehard 49ers fan Mia DeCamilla was enjoying her team’s match between the Bills at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium when she was violently shoved from her seat by an allegedly drunk fan of the opposing team. Luckily, Mia was unhurt in the melée, but she and her family made the (probably wise) choice to head home after the incident. The family alerted police, though opted not to file a report.

Mia has twice fought against liver cancer, relapsing in May 2023. Though she was raised in the New York suburb of Rochester, Mia became an avid 49ers fan through her father during her recovery from cancer. “Me and my dad in the hospital, we’ll watch football together, and then when I come home, sometimes for breaks, like in the hospital, when I had cancer, I will sit down and just relax and watch football all day, that’s what I like and how I made my team,” she said.

Mia, who held an “I Beat Cancer” sign during the game, was unbelievably excited to attend her first match. “In the car, when we were driving there, I was saying like, ‘Are we there yet?’ I was too excited. I was full of energy,” Mia recalled.

But the unruly Bills fan brought the celebration to a halt. “He said, ‘I’m going to push through all these Niner fans,” Mia’s father, Mike DeCamilla, said. “So, he actually bumped me and my son a little bit and then got past me and pushed her, almost slid off the stairs and hit her like side on the chairs,” Mike fumed. “The guy purposely walked through and was pushing through people. I get that it’s busy and hectic, but he had to be 6 foot and she is less than 100 pounds.”

However, the situation hasn’t been entirely negative. The incident caught the attention of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown, who says he plans to FaceTime with Mia in the near future.
