Dub Hub: Draymond Green praises Andrew Wiggins’ ’super aggressive’ mentality this season
Rounding up all Warriors and NBA related news for Tuesday, December 3rd.
In today’s Dub Hub:
- Draymond Green praises Andrew Wiggins’ “super aggressive” mentality this season in the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.
- Steve Kerr says Draymond Green is doubtful for Tuesday’s game vs. Nuggets.
- Tuesday marks the final day of NBA Cup Group Stage games.
One bright spot for the Golden State Warriors this season has been the resurgence of Andrew Wiggins. The starting small forward has delivered exactly what the team has needed, consistently taking on the challenge of defending the opposing team’s top player while stepping up as the Warriors’ second-leading scorer, averaging 17.4 points per game.
On a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, Draymond Green praised Wiggins’ “super aggressive” mentality, highlighting how his approach to the season makes him one of the rarest talents in the league.

Wiggins has credited his resurgence to the work he’s put in throughout the offseason, which has especially paid dividends in his perimeter scoring. He’s currently shooting 41.3% from beyond the three-point line on 5.4 attempts per game this season. As the Warriors continue to search for scoring options alongside Stephen Curry, Wiggins’ ability to contribute as a reliable source of offense has been pivotal in keeping the Warriors afloat.

What to watch for as Warriors go in search of solutions to snap skid | San Francisco Chronicle
Trayce Jackson-Davis started 18 of Golden State’s first 19 games at center. But Kevon Looney started the second half Saturday and helped inspire a mild comeback against the Suns.
Looney’s off-ball screening freed Curry for his first three 3-pointers. Kerr said Looney is Golden State’s best screener “by far.” Looney’s physicality and defensive know-how helped slow Phoenix’s efficient spread attack.
“He’s rock solid. … Been great every time I put him in the game,” Kerr said. “Every time I put him in, the game feels right. So, I’ve got to try to get him more minutes.”
Top NBA trade candidates for the 2024-25 season | Hoops Hype
Following Jalen Johnson’s five-year, $150 million contract extension with the Atlanta Hawks, there was a thought that maybe Kuminga’s asking price would come down since he was closely eying that situation because both play the same position and are about the same age. Instead, nothing came close on a similar five-year, $150 offer for Kuminga because it seemed like the least he would’ve considered was a five-year, $175 million deal, HoopsHype has learned. Since the season began, Kuminga has mostly come off the bench and has struggled shooting the ball from the field at career-low percentages across the board.
Why finding a partner for Steph is biggest issue Warriors face | NBC Sports Bay Area
“What we’re trying to find is combinations that click,” Kerr said. “We have a lot of really good individual pieces on this team. The tricky part is the puzzle itself. Certain combinations are really good together, other ones aren’t as good. But when you’re talking about a deep team with a lot of guys who can play and a lot of different skill sets, that leaves a lot of different possible lineup combos. We went over all that stuff today. But Draymond’s absence changes it, so we’ll be going over more stuff tonight.”

LeBron’s jumper is off, and the Lakers are struggling on offense | NBA
James hasn’t made a 3-pointer since he tied Kyle Korver for seventh on the league’s career list (2,450) last week. His fourth attempt against the Timberwolves from behind the arc was an air ball, causing an audible gasp from the crowd at Target Center.
The long ball isn’t the only shot he’s struggling with. The mid-range is on his list, too.
“Just period, just everything,” James said. “Just a rhythm. I just feel off rhythm the last few games.”
How does he fix it?
“Work. Just work. That’s all,” James said.
2024-25 NBA rookie rankings: Jared McCain, Dalton Knecht, more | ESPN
McCain’s emergence has been one of the few bright spots in Philadelphia’s tumultuous season, positioning him as an early leader in NBA Rookie of the Year conversations.
After a streak of seven 20-point games in November, he leads all rookies in scoring, living up to his billing as an excellent shooter coming out of Duke, where he made 41% of his 3s on nearly six attempts per game last season. The 76ers have been thrilled with McCain’s work ethic, a trait that Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer highlighted when he told ESPN that McCain was the hardest worker he’d been around at Duke.

Player grades: Warriors vs. Suns
Kyle Anderson
7 minutes, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1-for-2 shooting, 50.0% TS, -3
There are times where Anderson’s slow-motion play, when contrasted by a hyper-athletic team, is reminiscent of the stereotypical middle-aged player at the park pickup game, who can’t hold a candle to the athleticism of the youths they’re up against, but schools them nonetheless with finesse and savvy plays. And there are times where Anderson’s slow-motion play, when contrasted by a hyper-athletic team, just looks too slow to be effective.
This game was, unfortunately, the latter.
