The Nation's Weather
The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, December 3, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A lake-effect snow event will continue in the Great Lakes
today. Heavy snow squalls may lead to whiteout conditions
and rapidly accumulating snowfall which could disrupt
travel. A big storm from Canada will spread snow across the
Upper Midwest. A gusty wind will usher in unseasonably cold
air, even for December. In the Southeast, sunshine will be
abundant, and it will feel more like January with daily high
temperatures 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit below the historical
average. It will be mainly dry outside of the lake-effect
snow, except in South Texas where a few thunderstorms may
occur. In the West, it will be primarily sunny, except in
the California valleys, western Washington and western
Oregon where patchy fog is expected to start the day with
stagnant air.
