TALK about a gnome-delivery! These tiny delivery vans will be sending freebies to hundreds of British families.
The remote-controlled dinky delivery vehicles are fully functioning replicas of regular supermarket home delivery vans – just 10 times smaller.
Measuring only 70cm long and 30cm high, they’re the perfect size for a gnome and have just enough room in the back for a compact Christmas shop.
You can ‘gnominate’ your home to receive mini mince pies and other tiny items across London, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow until December 5th.
A spokesperson for Asda, which is behind the scheme, said: “We’ve been blown away by the love customers have for our gnomes and our pint-sized Gnome Delivery vans are a really fun way for us to keep spreading that joy this Christmas.”
The supermarket’s gnome-heavy Christmas campaign has now racked up more than 25 million views on social media alone.
It sees the ‘gnomies’ come to the rescue and help snowed-in Asda colleagues get everything ready for Christmas.
Now, the same stars – Max, Gnorma, Gnibbles, Gnarla and Gnicky – are lending a helping hand once again, this time from behind the wheels of the mini delivery vans.
They will be visiting London on Monday 9th December, Cardiff on Tuesday 10th, Manchester Wednesday 11th, Leeds on Thursday 12th and Glasgow on Friday 13th.
Asda’s spokesperson added: “Our Christmas range is all about helping our customers to have their best Christmas ever, and additional touches like these little vans delivering free festive treats are the cherry on top.”
This comes as Tesco is ramping up its speedy deliveries for Christmas that can get orders to people in just 20 minutes.
Whoosh is already on offer from 1,400 Express stores — but the service will now be available at 30 of its big branches.
It means that all the way up to Christmas Eve customers from Cornwall to Scotland can make a quickfire festive food order.
