Ana Navarro shares her conversation with Biden about son's pardon

0

President Joe Biden pardoned his son over the weekend after vowing not to before the election. Since making the promise, Biden has been kicked off the presidential ticket and witnessed a convicted felon being elected to the White House.

So Biden ally Ana Navarro wasn't shocked by the pardon of Hunter Biden after he was convicted of lying on a federal form and tax charges.

The younger Biden was found guilty after he purchased a gun while under the influence of drugs, saying on a federal document that he was not on drugs. Another case involved Hunter Biden not paying taxes from 2016 to 19. The taxes were ultimately paid and included fees and penalties but the federal investigation continued, the New York Times reported in March 2022.

"I actually talked to Joe Biden about this when he was on the show," Navarro recalled. "I told him I hoped he pardoned Hunter."

"You did. I remember," said Sunny Hostin.

"I went to speak at the Biden Institute in Delaware, like, a month later, and we talked on the phone, and I told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter," Navarro continued. "I left him a handwritten note at his desk at the University of Delaware and told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter."

She said she thought it was so important that the elder Biden hear from supporters who believe it's fine to take care of his son.

"So many of the people who committed this crime do not get prosecuted," said Navarro. "Imagine the guilt that Joe Biden has to live with thinking that his son — his only surviving son — is getting prosecuted because he is his son."

She recalled Trump pardoning Jared Kushner's father, Charlie Kushner.

"And Chris Christie, Republican, who prosecuted him at the time, said it was one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes he prosecuted in more than a decade." Navarro continued.

She said the president gave his son a gift and hopes that Hunter can continue to stay sober.
