Adolescent arrested on felony weapon charges in Moreau
MOREAU, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Thursday, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious person report on Jennifer Drive around 11:23 p.m. The call resulted in the arrest of an adolescent who faces three felony weapon charges.
Deputies said several people wearing dark clothing and masks were allegedly entering parked cars. After a brief chase, deputies arrested an adolescent.
Deputies report the person had a loaded firearm, a pistol, that had been defaced to conceal or prevent the detection of a crime, at the time of the arrest. Additionally, deputies reported the gun was determined to have been stolen.
Charges:
- Criminal Possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony
- Criminal Possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony
- Criminal Possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class E felony
The offender was later arraigned in the Waterford Town Court. The person was then released to the custody of their parents, pending further Saratoga County Court proceedings.
