Box of puppies found abandoned in Manhattan amid low temperatures
MANHATTAN (KSNT) - City officials in Manhattan say an investigation is underway after a box full of puppies was found next to some trash in a local restaurant's parking lot amid freezing temperatures.
The City of Manhattan Animal Control posted to social media on Dec. 2 that five puppies are being held at a local animal shelter while an investigation is underway to discover how and why they ended up in the parking lot of a Popeyes on the evening of Dec. 1. The puppies were reportedly abandoned next to some trash while temperatures dropped Sunday night.
A passerby discovered the puppies, saving them from the low temperatures before turning them over to the City of Manhattan Animal Control. Now, city officials are looking for any information tied to the abandoned puppies and are seeking the public's help.
"We are seeking ANY information that the public may have regarding these pups. A thorough investigation will be conducted to find out who may have done this."
