My daughter gave birth to premature twins in 2017 in Turku, one 600 grams, the other 700 grams. As alarming as the situation seemed, the incredible professional care giving in the Turku hospital was so perfect and assuring where mother and twins were treated for over 2 months, including a bed for the father. All of the specialised care given was essentially free of charge.
In Helsinki, we have had one of the longest well-functioning local clinics while constantly hearing horror stories concerning getting care in other areas of the city.
