Shop Local: Where to find unique holiday gifts

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Finding the perfect gifts for each loved one this year could be stressful, so why not shop local?

Here is a list of local Central Texas holiday markets to help you find the perfect gifts while supporting a small business.

Holiday Reuse Market

Austin Creative Reuse is hosting its fifth annual Holiday Reuse Market. Find unique handcrafted gifts from more than 100 artists who focus on the reuse of materials.

The market will be held on Dec. 7 and 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the ACR center.

Hotel Viata's Holiday Market

Celebrate the holiday and find unique gifts at the annual Hotel Viata Holiday Market on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Stroll through this festive holiday market and find handcrafted gifts or seasonal treats from local artisans. This event will begin at 5 p.m. at Hotel Viata in West Lake Hills.

The Loren's Hotel Holiday Market

Get into the festive spirit and find all your holiday gifts from local artists and vendors at the Loren's Holiday Market.

On Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. shoppers are invited to stroll through a curated selection of "handcrafted goods from talented Texas artisans."

The event will be held at the Loren Hotel and is free to the public, but RSVPs are required.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar

The Holiday Bazaar is now open at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar. This is the perfect market to get all your holiday gifts while supporting local shops. Its open through Dec. 24 at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This year the art bazaar is trying to make the shopping experience the smoothest possible for customers. There are options available to shop online and have your items shipped, have a quick in-person pick-up, or even have your own personal shopper.

LatinFest Market

The first LatinFest Market hosted by Flores Market is happening on Dec. 14 and 15 from noon to 5 p.m.

The two-day holiday event will feature a line-up of Latino musical artists, vendors, and "Masks" a Latiné Art Show.  

This market is in partnership with the City of Austin Economic Development Department and is free to the public. The market will be held at the Canopy Projects Gallery.

Downtown Holiday Stroll

Presented by the Downtown Austin Alliance, the Downtown Holiday Stroll event will feature artesian vendors, food trucks, photos with Santa and holiday cheer for the entire family.

This event is free and will take place on Congress Avenue between 8th and 11th streets.
