Ange Postecoglou singled out one Tottenham man for praise after what was a lacklustre display from his side against Fulham.

Tottenham looked a shadow of their usual selves

During the Postecoglou era, Spurs have generally always given a decent account of themselves at home, even though results might have not always gone their way.

Worryingly, that is now starting to change, with their last three home matches against Ipswich, Roma and Fulham being a hard watch.

In fact, Tottenham will consider themselves lucky to come away with a point from this afternoon’s game, with Marco Silva’s men looking more threatening until their late red card.

Ange Postecoglou praises Fraser Forster

If not for some crucial interventions from Fraser Forster, Spurs would been consigned to their second straight Premier League defeat at home.

Just like in the 2-2 draw against AS Roma, the Englishman got his defence out of jail on a couple of occasions.

When asked about Forster, Postecoglou said after the 1-1 draw (via Alasdair Gold): “Yeah, he was good. We needed him in some big moments today. When you lose someone as important as Vic, you need someone experienced who isn’t going to be overawed by stepping in. We see Fraser every day and we know his really strong work ethic.”

Fraser Forster’s performance was the only positive for Spurs

Tottenham fans will undoubtedly be feeling a little better about Guglielmo Vicario‘s injury after the performances that Forster has delivered against Roma and Fulham.

However, barring him and the experienced Ben Davies, almost every single player struggled to hit their usual levels in these two games.

Many players are showing some signs of fatigue, which would be a major concern for Postecoglou, given Tottenham’s lengthy injury list.
