Siraj’s disciplined bowling finally bore fruit when he claimed the first wicket for India, dismissing Matt Renshaw cheaply. From over the wicket, the right-arm pacer bowled a well-pitched, good-length delivery that slightly moved away from Renshaw after pitching around the off and middle stump, leading to his dismissal.
As Renshaw attempted a defensive shot, the ball edged off his bat and flew to the slip cordon, where Devdutt Padikkal took a sharp, low catch at second slip. Renshaw’s brief innings ended abruptly, and he was dismissed for just five runs.
After Siraj removed Renshaw, Akash Deep followed up with the dismissal of Jayden Goodwin for just four runs, leaving Australia PM-XI in a vulnerable position at 22 for 2. At the time of writing, Sam Konstas and Jack Clayton were at the crease, with Konstas on 11* and Clayton yet to get off the mark.
