‘Once a quitter, always a quitter’: Paro aims to break down Hitchins in Dec. 7 title defense
Take a look behind the scenes of both fighters leading into their upcoming IBF title fight.
With Richardson Hitchins scheduled to take on IBF super lightweight titleholder Liam Paro on December 7, Matchroom releases it’s latest installment of Make The Days Count which highlights behind the scenes footage of both fighters as they prepare for battle.
Hitchins is coming off perhaps his most difficult fight yet, a decision win over Gustavo Lemos, and there are those who believe that fight showed vulnerabilities of Hitchins. Hitchins himself, however, says that fight only proved his mettle.
“I feel like my last fight with Gustavo Lemos, be (brought) something out of me and showed the world something I knew withing myself but (brought) it out, he (brought) it to the next level because I was hurt in that fight,” Hitchins said. “After the fight I pissed blood that fight. I had to go to the next level that fight, that was a tough fight. Me knowing I can go through that, it just shows that you’re going to have to kill me to stop me.”
Liam Paro, on the other hand, says he believes Hitchins has quit in him and that he’ll be looking to expose that once the fight begins.
“I know I’m really about that, I don’t have to try to tell people I’m about it. People know what I’m about,” Paro says. “We’ve heard numerous times from numerous people that he’s a quitter and I believe once a quitter, always a quitter so I’m definitely going to test that and see if he’s about it.”
