Subway train stalls inside tunnel, limited N service in NYC: MTA
NEW YORK (PIX11) – A subway train stalled inside a tunnel between Queens and Manhattan on Friday, temporarily limiting N service between the two boroughs, according to the MTA.
Most N trains ran between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Lexington Avenue/59th Street and between Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard and Queensboro Plaza. Southbound R trains were rerouted between Queens and Manhattan.
Southbound N and Q trains ran on the local track from 57th Street-7th Avenue to Canal Street. Rerouted R trains ran on the F line from 36th Street to Lexington Avenue/63rd Street, then on the Q line from 57th Street-7th Avenue.
The train was removed from the tunnel after experiencing a mechanical problem, according to the MTA. N, Q, R and W service has since resumed with delays.

There were also delays on the Nos. 2 and 5 lines on Friday after a person was struck by a train in Brooklyn, according to the MTA.
