A FESTIVE new Grinch cafe has opened at a Primark in Glasgow.

The green, Christmas-hating monster, is now a staple at this time of year.

And fans of the mean-hearted season-spoiler can now enjoy a tasty lunch in the themed eatery.

Opened in Braehead, just outside the city, the cafe is decorated with Grinch goodness throughout.

There’s cute illustrations in traditional red and green all over the cafe, which is in the Primark store.

And the menu is also Grinch themed.

Some of the highlights include, Holiday Cheer – a waffle topped with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate orange pieces and popping candy – along with a festive toastie packed with turkey, brie and cranberry.

Meanwhile, there’s milkshakes to suit every taste. From the classic Grinch shake, a green peppermint drink with white chocolate sauce, whipped cream, candy cane, strawberry sauce and love hearts, to a Who juice, which is a maple shake with pumpkin spiced sauce, fudge pieces, whipped cream and gingerbread.

There’s also Christmas themed iced lattes and hot chocolates on the menu.

And for kids that are better behaved than the Grinch – and hoping to be on the nice list this year – there’s a postbox where you can send a letter to Santa.

Primark fans are loving the makeover, with the Grinch themed cafe taking over from a Shrek eatery.

One said: “I need to go here!”

Another gushed: “We’re going to Braehead asap.”

And a third said: “OMG, slay – I loved the Shrek one too.”

The Grinch was created by children‘s writer Dr Seuss in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, which was first published in 1957.

The book has been adapted many times, first as a 1966 animated TV film narrated by Boris Karloff.

A 2000 live-action feature saw Jim Carrey hilariously take on the role while in 2018 there was a hit animated film version released, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the verdant menace.
