Man, 18, fatally shot in East Garfield Park drive-by

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Around 2:20 a.m., the unidentified teen was outside in the 2800 block of West Polk Street when a black vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 18-year-old, who police said was shot multiple times in the body, and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:21 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Area 4 detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made.
