States’ budgeted revenue mop-up in 2024-25 to beat pre-Covid level: PRS report

States are expected to surpass pre-Covid revenue levels by 2024-25 due to better own revenue streams and central transfers. However, fiscal deficits and increased pension costs may pose challenges. States' own revenue collection and SGST revenues have already exceeded the 2018-19 levels.
