Delhi team create HISTORY, first side to employ 10 different bowlers in T20 match
The Delhi Ranji team created history in T20 cricket on Friday during their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match against Manipur at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They became the first team in history of T20 cricket – domestic or international – to employ 10 bowlers (including their wicketkeeper) in a T20 match.
The record happened after Delhi batters Aryan Rana, Himmat Singh, Priyansh Arya, Yash Dhull and wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat all bowled one over each. Only Priyansh Arya, who was picked up by Punjab Kings at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction for Rs 3.8 crore this week, was the one to pick up a wicket among these five.
Apart from this, Delhi four regular bowlers and all-rounder and skipper Ayush Badoni shared the first six wickets to fall. Captain Badoni employed this tactic after Manipur had been reduced to 41 for 6 in 9.1 overs.

The Manipur side eventually managed to reach 120 for 8 in their 20 overs as Delhi failed to bowl out their opponents. In reply, Delhi were struggling at 83 for the loss of four wickets, with Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni, Himmat Singh and Anuj Rawat all failing with the bat. It was left to opener Yash Dhull to prop up the innings along with Mayank Rawat to avoid a shock upset.
Dhull remained unbeaten on 59 off 55 balls with 1 six and 8 fours while Aryan Rana and Mayank Rawat scored 13 and 18 respectively as Delhi chased down the target with more than an over to spare.
Hardik Pandya in blazing form
Meanwhile, Team India all-rounder and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya continued his blazing form in the SMAT 2024. Hardik smashed 47 off just 23 balls with 5 sixes and 3 fours against Tripura on Friday.
The Baroda all-rounder’s whirlwind knock helped his side chase down the 115-run target in just 11.2 overs. Hardik had hammered 69 in the last match against Tamil Nadu to chase down a massive 221-run score off the final ball.
In another match, Team India opener and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was dismissed for just 4 but his Kerala side piled up a massive 234 for 5 against Mumbai. Kerala opener Rohan Kunnummal smashed 87 off 48 balls with 7 sixes and 5 fours and Salman Nazir scored an unbeaten 99 off 49 balls with 8 sixes and 5 fours.
Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who was not picked by any franchise in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, picked up the early wicket of Samson but was clobbered for 69 runs in 4 overs – including 29 runs in his final over.
