Thanksgiving Dog Trot collects donations for Mohawk Hudson Humane Society
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The weather did not stop participants at the annual Dog Trot at Capital Hills Albany Golf Course on Thursday morning.
Families brought their four-legged friends to get some exercise. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, participants brought donations to help shelter pets at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Community leaders said the snowy weather did not deter the dogs.
"There's been years where it's been negative 10, windchill, good weather and bad weather," Albany County Legislator Andrew Joyce said. "The key point to remember is that folks who show up here year in and year out, they care about their pets, they care about their neighborhood."
If you would like to help donate to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, a wish list of items the shelter needs is located on its website.
