Meet Indian ‘prince’, has massive collection of expensive cars, Anand Mahindra presented him Thar 700; his name is…, net worth is…
Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, the ‘crown prince’ of Udaipur, who is often in the headlines for his opulent lifestyle, is also famous for his massive collection of expensive cars. The ‘Prince of Udaipur’ is fond of the latest luxury cars, but has a passion for vintage cars, as is evident from his expansive car collection, which includes some of the most priciest vehicles in the world, like the Rolls Royce, as well as classic cars from the colonial era.
Apart from his fondness for foreign-made luxury cars, Lakshyaraj Singh also has a tender spot for some Made in India vehicles, especially the Mahindra Thar SUV. The royal scion fell in love with the Mahindra Thar 700 when the SUV was launched in 2019 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh.
The prince was presented the keys of the limited edition Thar SUV by none other than the chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, Anand Mahindra himself. The company had launched the limited edition Mahindra Thar 700 on June 17, 2019. Only 700 units of the variant were produced by Mahindra & Mahindra, the leading SUV manufacturer in India.
Besides his extensive car collection Lakshyaraj Singh also loves motorcycles and became the first owner of the BSA Gold Star 650 in September this year. The cruiser motorbike priced between Rs 3,02215 – Rs 3,37215 in India, boasts 45.6bhp power and is capable of generating an impressive 55Nm torque.
The BSA Gold Star 650 features a dual-channel ABS, providing the rider excellent control on all types of terrains. It is available in 6 colour options.
Udaipur’s ‘Game of Thrones’
Although Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar is crowned the ‘Prince of Udaipur’, the descendants of Maharana Pratap are often in the news due to the dispute over rightful heir to the royal throne. Around 40 years ago, Lakshyaraj’s grandfather, Bhagwant Singh, had disowned his elder son, Mahendra Singh, and named his younger son, Arvind Singh, as the sole executor of the properties in his will.
This has led to a bitter dispute amongst the royals over who is the true heir to the throne of Udaipur. On November 25, Mahendra Singh’s son Vishvaraj Singh was named as the chief of Chittorgarh fort, which reignited the dispute and triggered protests.
The estimated net worth of the Mewars of Rajasthan is pegged at around Rs 10,000 crore, according to several media reports.
