Manipur CM Biren Singh launches statewide crackdown on illegal armed militants

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced statewide operations against militants, starting in Jiribam district. The government has requested additional central forces to enhance security, following recent violence and unrest. A new security SOP will be implemented, and joint operations will prioritize protecting citizens. Over 250 people have been killed since May 2022, and over 3000 looted weapons recovered.
