LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A 12-year-old boy from Lake Charles was arrested Monday for threatening to shoot at a school, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles Monday evening after receiving information from the Louisiana State Police in reference to a school threat.
Investigators said a 12-year-old made a threat online about a shooting at a unspecified school. When detectives spoke with the boy, who attends F.K. White Middle School, he confirmed he made the threat, officials said.
He was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with menacing.
