Man dies in Queensbury crash, vehicle fire

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Lake George man has died after a one-car crash in Queensbury. The Warren County Sheriff's Office said 38-year-old James Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office responded to Route 9L near the Ridge Terrace Restaurant on November 23 around 10:20 p.m. for the report of a car fire. Multiple fire departments responded to put out the fire. Mitchell was found dead inside the car, said the Sheriff's Office.

A preliminary investigation found that the car went off the road, hit a rock embankment, and then struck a tree before catching on fire. The crash remains under investigation.
