Topeka police identify deadly shooting victim as local 32-year-old
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka police have released the identity of the city's latest deadly shooting victim Tuesday.
Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka said the Topeka Police Department (TPD) has identified the Nov. 24 shooting victim as Jessie L. Grahnert, 32, of Topeka. The investigation into Grahnert's death is ongoing.
Police were called around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 to the 2000 block of North Kansas Avenue on reports of a shooting in the area. Officers arriving at the scene found one person, later identified as Grahnert, dead at the scene.
Grahnert's death is being investigated as the 19th homicide case in Topeka for 2024.
