‘We’re just stupid’ – Dejan Kulusevski sets tough task for Tottenham teammates
Dejan Kulusevski has said what Tottenham Hotspur have to do to build on the win over Manchester City, sending a clear message to his teammates.
Spurs show just how good they can be
Tottenham‘s inconsistency this season has left a lot of the supporters frustrated and some had had enough following the loss to Ipswich Town, even questioning if this project is worth persevering with.
However, Ange Postecoglou‘s men served another reminder on Saturday just how irresistible they can be when things click for them.
Manchester City had no answers to Spurs, who emerged with a thumping 4-0 win from the Etihad despite being without both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Dejan Kulusevski sends message to Tottenham teammates
Kulusevski, who was once again the star of the show for Spurs, has now insisted that he and his teammates have no excuse not to build on this big win.
He demanded that this is the standard that the Tottenham players have to maintain every single game going forward.
The attacker told Spurs Play after the 4-0 win: “This is the standard, this is how we have to play every game. If not, we’re just stupid. We just have to keep this level because when we play like this it’s a joy for the world.”
Win over City is meaningless unless Tottenham go on a run
If Tottenham fail to register two wins in two in their next two matches against Fulham and Bournemouth, the win over City will mean nothing
The players need to show that they can build on this and go on a good run and that they are not just a side which blows hot and cold.
For Spurs to have legitimate ambitions of competing with the best sides in the Premier League, they need to start treating every game with the same level of importance.
