IMPROVING your Amazon Fire TV Stick might be as simple as clicking your remote three times.

It’s hard to make a TV experience that suits everyone – so there are some features you might want to switch off.

One controversial features it autoplay, which is when video starts playing as soon as you hover over it.

Some people love it and find it useful, but it’s a nightmare for others.

It can even have the odd effect of making you scroll more quickly through items – just to avoid autoplay.

But Amazon has shared a trick to switch autoplay off, so you don’t have to deal with it anymore.

Amazon explained: “Autoplay is a great way to get a taste of content without having to press a single button.

“However, if you’d like to disable auto-play on the Fire TV Stick, go to Settings > Preferences > Featured Content.

“And then toggle off the Autoplay option. That’s all there is to it.”

The beauty of it is that if you change your mind, you can switch autoplay back on again.

It should make browsing for TV shows or movies much more peaceful.

But that’s not the only trick that Amazon wants you to try.

OTHER HANDY AMAZON FIRE TV TRICKS

Another trick that you might have missed is Amazon’s X-Ray.

It’s an Amazon feature that tells you about what you’re watching.

The feature is totally free, but note that it’s only available if you’re on Prime Video.

“X-Ray allows you to find out more information about content that you’re watching on Prime Video,” Amazon explained.

“For example, you can pull up information like IMDb ratings, plot synopses, actors and characters, and more.”

All you need to do is press the “up” button on your Fire TV remote control when you’re watching something on Prime Video.

You can then browse through X-Ray options.

Another great trick if you’ve got a Fire TV set specifically is private listening.

You can connect a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones to the Fire TV, letting you watch telly in peace.

The idea is that you can listen to a loud action movie late at night without waking up the whole house.

Just go to into your Fire TV’s settings, then click on Controllers and Bluetooth Devices > Other Devices > Add Bluetooth Device.

Then simply begin pairing your headphones and enjoy the telly with your headphones on.

This trick also works on Roku TVs, if you have one.
