‘I’m Just a Countess, Standing in Front of a Bloke, Asking Him to Snog Her’
Hugh Grant would not make a very good Real Housewives husband. He’d be a bit too irascible, too British, too annoyed at the whole thing to be able to mindlessly blend into the background, providing money but no opinions — more Todd Bradley than John Barlow. We say this because Luann de Lesseps, former countess and former RHONY-an, is currently claiming that she made out with Hugh Grant in the Hamptons. Grant himself is less sure. De Lesseps told TooFab that she got the restaurant Pierre’s to sit her right behind Grant, giving her the opportunity to intentionally bump into him. “I go, ‘I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot, I feel terrible,’” she described. “He goes, ‘Okay, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me.’” Then, allegedly, they started “heavily” making out.
Grant, for his part, is less sure this happened at all. “Steady on,” he said in response. “I do remember meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant, but I’d like to stress it was about 15 years ago. I don’t recall shots or kissing, but her memory might be better than mine.” Sounds like a kind way of saying, “Sure …” Imagine anyone forgetting that they made out with Luann? One thing about that voice? It’s memorable.
