PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 61-year-old woman whose truck was spotted near a hiking trail in the Mt. Hood National Forest on Nov. 23.

Susan “Phoenix” Lane-Fournier of Brightwood was reported missing on Nov. 22 after failing to show up for work. Her white Ford F-250 was located the following day on Salmon River Road near the Green Canyon Way Trail, south of Welches.

“She is believed to be hiking with her two large Malinois-mix dogs in the Green Canyon Way Trail area south of Welches,” the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said. “Deputies unsuccessfully attempted to locate Ms. Lane-Fournier at her residence.”

After Lane-Fournier’s truck was found, sheriff’s deputies and volunteers with Clackamas Search and Rescue began a day’s long search for the missing hiker. Additional volunteers with Portland Mountain Rescue, Mountain Wave Emergency Communications, and Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue have also joined the search effort, which includes two tracking K9 teams and more than 24 rescuers.

The search is ongoing Monday. Anyone with information about Lane-Fournier’s disappearance is asked to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Lane-Fournier is 5 feet 2 inches tall with reddish-brown hair.

“Although she is familiar with the area, it is not known if Ms. Lane-Fournier was prepared to stay out overnight,” CCSO said. “Temperatures in the area have dropped into the 30s with light rain.”
