Fmr. U.S. Senator Fred Harris passes away

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Former United States Senator Fred Harris, a Democratic leader in 1976 and Presidential Candidate passed away on Saturday.

Fmr. Senator Harris served eight years in the State Senate and chaired the Democratic National Committee helping to unify the party in the 1968 convention. State leaders praised Harris and his contributions advocating for equality and dedication to Native American issues.

Fmr. Senator Fred Harris was 94 years old.
