RG Kar protests: SC orders SIT probe into custodial torture case, weekly reports before HC

The Supreme Court directed a special investigation team to probe the alleged police torture of a woman protestor. The woman was arrested after protesting the rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor. The High Court had initially ordered a CBI inquiry. The Supreme Court modified this order. The SIT will report weekly progress to the High Court.
