Man killed, woman wounded in Little Village shooting
A man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting in Little Village on Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.
A 43-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were standing on a sidewalk in the 4000 block of West 26th Street at 4 p.m. when a dark sedan approached them and someone inside shot at them, police said. Both victims were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital; the man was in critical condition after being shot several times and the woman was in good condition after being shot in her right leg.
No one is in custody.
It comes less than 20 hours after a 16-year-old boy, Jesus Sanchez, was killed and a 15-year-old injured less than half a mile away in the 2600 block of South Avers Avenue. Both Sanchez and the other boy — who was reported in good condition after being shot in the back — were also taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, police said.
