Mahayuti sweeps western Maharashtra sugar belt; big setback for MVA

The ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, secured a resounding victory in the western Maharashtra sugarcane belt, winning 53 out of 70 assembly seats. The opposition MVA suffered a major setback, securing only 12 seats. The Congress faced significant losses, while the NCP emerged as the strongest opposition force in the region.
