'Defying Gravity' Movie Lyrics: Cynthia Erivo Sings Powerful 'Wicked' Song, Reacts to Fans 'Holding Space' with the Words
“Defying Gravity” is one of the most iconic Broadway songs of all time and Cynthia Erivo has given us a perfect rendition in the new movie Wicked: Part One.
The Tony-winning actress belts out the song in the final moments of the movie and sings alongside Ariana Grande throughout the number.
The lyrics in the movie version of Wicked are slightly different than the Broadway lyrics. There’s even a small addition to the end of the song.
In a recent interview, a reporter for Gay Times told Cynthia that “people are taking the lyrics of ‘Defying Gravity’ and really holding space with that, and feeling power in that.”
Cynthia‘s response has been going viral.
