Middle East latest: Israeli strikes kill a hospital director in Lebanon and wound 9 medics in Gaza
Lebanon’s Health Ministry says Israeli airstrikes have killed the director of the largest hospital in the country's northeast. Six others were killed in Friday's strike on the director's home. The Health Ministry reported at least five paramedics were killed by Israeli strikes in the country’s south. The United Nations has reported heavy clashes between Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters. Four Italian peacekeepers were lightly wounded when a rocket, likely fired by Hezbollah, hit their base in southern Lebanon. In Gaza, Israeli strikes hit Kamal Adwan Hospital, one of the few hospitals still partially operating in the north. The hospital director says nine medical staff were wounded and its generator and oxygen systems were damaged.
