Amazon slashes 55-inch Fire TV from £750 to £420 for Black Friday
AMAZON has well and truly kicked of its Black Friday sale, and its own devices are the stars of the show.
I’ve eyed a bargain on the 55-inch Fire TV Omni, down to just £419.99, saving shoppers a huge 44%.

Amazon likes to get the ball rolling early, so despite Black Friday still being a week off, you can already shop the retail giants deals today.
The sale started yesterday (November 21) with savings on hundreds of product lines up for grabs.
Naturally, the best deals are reserved for Amazon’s own tech, and in my eyes, the standout comes on its range of Fire TV devices.
That includes the 55-inch Fire TV Omni QLED, slashed by 44%. A huge saving, pocketing you £330 off the usual price.
That’s not bad going for a QLED TV of this size and calibre, which can easily run into the thousands.
You’ll get the Fire TV platform, which, after owning the 32-inch Fire TV 2-Series for over a year, I can say is brilliantly intuitive.
This model is a leagues ahead, though, boasting Dolby Vision IQ, which helps to make the colours on screen pop.
I’m also impressed with the talk of the built-in sensor, which automatically senses the amount of light in the room and modifies the display’s brightness, pretty nifty right?
There’s no dramas over lost remotes either, with the Omni range, you get Alexa built-in.
That means you can switch apps like Netflix, Disney+ or Prime and find content just by speaking to your TV.
Shoppers certainly seem impressed, with the model racking up hundreds of glowing reviews.
‘I literally plugged it in an minutes later I was fully connected to all my apps and subscriptions,’ wrote one shopper.
They continued: ‘It’s voice activated and works perfectly, all I have to say is the name of a programme and it lists all the places I can watch it.’
One shopper even praised it as the ‘superb value 4K QLED’, writing: ‘The picture quality is very impressive indeed. Local dimming makes an enormous difference at this price point.
‘The sound is also good, probably because it is 5cm thick at the base and can take bigger speakers.’
Another concluded: ‘This TV suits my wife and myself down to the ground and we can really recommend it to anyone who is wanting a no fuss, easy to set up TV.’
