Rappler Talk Entertainment: ‘Naughty and Nice’ comedy by Jon Santos
MANILA, Philippines – You’ve seen him impersonate all the post-1986 Philippine presidents and every Filipina beauty queen. Jon Santos’ comedy has become a long-running commentary on Philippine culture, society, and politics.
For his first live show in years – Naughty & Nice: Jon Santos is Coming to Town – Santos has been watching the quad committee hearings at the House of Representatives and memorizing Bini’s hit “Cherry on Top.”
Philippine life of late has been rough-and-tumble, and Santos says the struggle of a comedian, always, is to know whether the audience is ready to laugh at something that’s otherwise traumatic.
The consummate, iconic comedian is gearing up to deliver what may possibly be the most cathartic show of the coming holidays, and he sits down with Rappler senior producer JC Gotinga to talk about his preparations, as well as his take on comedy’s role in social life.
“Naughty & Nice: Jon Santos is Coming to Town” is happening on December 7, 8 pm, at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier in Taguig City. Get tickets here. – Rappler.com
