TEAM GB Olympian Bryony Page is joining the CIRCUS months after winning gold in the Paris Games.

Page, 33, made history by becoming the first trampolinist to win Olympic gold for Team GB.

But months on from that triumph, she is now set for a stunning career change.

Speaking to the BBC, she has revealed she will be travelling to Montreal, Canada to join the world-famous Cirque du Soleil, who she hopes to tour with next year.

She said: “I love the idea of performing in the show and using trampoline in a different way.”

Crewe-born Page won silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020.

She has her eyes set on retaining her title at the Los Angeles Games in 2028 but admits she is still “in shock” at being the Olympic champion.

Page said: “I know it’s happened and I have a medal to prove it to myself, but I still can’t really process how it’s happened and that it actually has.

“When I was a kid, the Olympians felt like they were superheroes.

“For me, personally, having the complete set, it just feels really nice and it’s quite poetic with the trampoline because it went silver, then down to bronze, and bounced back up to gold.”

Page is the most decorated female gymnast in British history, and added another accolade to her list after she was named the Olympians Olympian.

A post on Team GB’s social media page said: “The most decorated female gymnast in British history has been voted by her Paris 2024 teammates for demonstrating what it means to be part of Team GB with true Olympic spirit.”

Speaking about her latest adventure, she added: “Plan A would be to do that and then come back for the LA Olympics.

“When I compete and there’s a crowd, I see it as a performance just as much as I see it as a competition.

“I love that side of it, that performance side, with the costumes and the make-up and the set and the music and the team and the camaraderie.

“I feel better and stronger now than I did in my early twenties.

“I love the feeling of flying through the sky and spinning and turning, and the G forces that we get.

“I can’t imagine doing anything different at the moment.”
